Mersin is a major regional center in southeastern Turkey, located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. With a population of about 2 million, it is the 11th most populous city in the country. Mersin is an important industrial center and the largest coastal city in Turkey, with an extensive coastline of 321 km.
