Now it is quite difficult to open a bank account in Turkey for Russian citizens and other foreigners without a residence permit. Usually it is possible only through intermediaries in Turkey, and the process depends on a particular manager in a particular office. It happens that one office may open an account and another office will refuse to open an account.

Nevertheless, there are no official bans on opening accounts for foreign citizens. Registration is simple, usually you will need:

• passport;
• proof of residence;
• TIN.

The most popular banks are Ziraat, DenizBank and VakıfBank.
