The essence of the program
According to the current rules, you can get Turkish citizenship by placing a deposit in one of the Turkish banks for an amount equivalent to 500 000 US dollars. The money must be held for three years, without withdrawal or transfer.
The main change in 2025
Previously, the deposit was fixed in dollars or euros. However, with recent changes in legislation, the amount is now converted into Turkish Liras at the Turkish Central Bank exchange rate at the time of deposit. This means that:
- the deposit is made in Turkish liras and not in currency;
- the amount will be fixed in lira and subject to fluctuations in purchasing power;
- the interest on the deposit is usually also paid in lira.
This change is intended to strengthen the national currency and make the program more "local" in nature.

- Minimum amount: equivalent of $500,000 in Turkish lira
- Deposit holding period: 3 years
- Bank: any bank approved by the Central Bank of Turkey to participate in the program
- Depositor has no right to withdraw or transfer funds for three years
