The easiest way to obtain Turkish citizenship

Did you know that it is possible to obtain Turkish citizenship by placing a deposit in a Turkish bank?

The main requirement is to have a deposit of the equivalent of 500,000 USD. If you choose a currency other than the dollar, the deposit amount must be equal to 500,000 USD at the exchange rate on the day of deposit.

Opening a deposit in Turkish Lira is not a prerequisite for citizenship. You may choose any of the following currencies:

• US Dollars (USD)
• Euro (EUR)
• Turkish Lira (TRY)
• British Pounds (GBP)

Thus, you can choose the currency most convenient for you, but the deposit amount must correspond to the equivalent of 500,000 USD.

Pay attention to the following points:

• The deposit must remain in the bank account for 3 years without the possibility of withdrawal or transfer.
• Violation of this condition (e.g. withdrawal before the 3 years are up) may result in revocation of citizenship.

The procedure for obtaining citizenship through opening a deposit in a Turkish bank includes the following steps:

• Opening a bank account

• Placing the deposit

• Obtaining a supporting document. After making the deposit, the bank will issue a document confirming that the amount of $500,000 has been deposited and will remain in the account for 3 years

• Applying for citizenship

• Submission of documents to the Ministry of Interior. All necessary documents should be submitted to the General Directorate of Migration of the Ministry of Interior of Turkey.

• Waiting for the application to be processed. The process of considering your application for citizenship may take from 6 months to a year.

• Obtaining Turkish citizenship. Once your application has been approved, you will receive a notification that your Turkish citizenship has been granted.
